Pastor Guy and Sara arrived in Condon on November 10, 2003 from Longview, Wa. They
brought a love for people and a desire to serve the local church. Guy began his journey into
full-time ministry a decade earlier as a volunteer youth leader in Kennewick, Washington. After
helping out a few years he answered the call to full time ministry by leaving his career in the
nuclear power industry and enrolling in what would be almost 7 years of college and seminary at
Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary. While there he served at Calvary Community
Church in Longview Washington. Most of his time was spent working with Jr. and Sr. high
schoolers, although there was plenty of time spent with the college, children, and senior
ministries as well. After graduating with degrees in Bible, Greek and Master of Divinity, Calvary
convened an ordination council that included the president of Multnomah. With his ordination
behind him he married Sara in September 2002 at Calvary in Longview where they first met. A
year later he accepted the call to Condon and truly has never looked back from that moment.
Sara was born and raised in Longview and while attending Longview Community
College she started attending a lunchtime Bible study. It was through that study that she began
attending Calvary where she soon accepted Christ. She began helping out with the youth group
and that is where Guy and her first met. Guy has had many hobbies over the years, snow
skiing in his younger days and a short stint on a snowboard were activities that he loved to do
since junior high. Golf also made up a big part of his life since his first job running a concession
stand on the tenth tee at the Elks golf course in Tacoma Washington. But a bad slice, a worse
back and green fees ended that hobby when he started college. Now he spends his time
working on remodeling the occasional house and during the archery season chasing elk through
the woods.
Guy and Sara have three children; Cameron, Henry and Fiona who take up the rest of
any free time they have. There truly could be no better place to raise a family for us than
Condon Oregon. We feel truly blessed to have been called to this town and are just as excited
to be here now as the first day we rolled over the hill and past the airbase and looked down on
Condon for the first time.
